Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is offering a Public Health Intelligence Analyst Apprentice (Specialist Level 7) on a fixed-term contract for up to 36 months. The role is 37 hours per week with hybrid attendance of at least two days on-site.

You will support the delivery of public health intelligence functions, including the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), by gathering, quality assuring, analysing and interpreting population-level data, using statistical analysis, GIS mapping and meaningful

Qualifications

Educated to degree level in Public Health, statistics or a related subject, or equivalent experience.
Experience in analytical, intelligence or research environment.
Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex population-level data using appropriate methods.
Good understanding of population data sources, information governance and data protection; experience with databases and tools.

Responsibilities

Support delivery of public health intelligence functions including JSNA by gathering, quality assuring, analysing and interpreting population data.
Contribute to needs assessments and outputs using statistics, GIS mapping, and visualisations.
Work with colleagues across Portsmouth City Council and external partners to translate findings into clear reports for stakeholders.
