Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Public Cloud Assistant Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build and operate cloud infrastructure across GCP and Azure. The role is hybrid with 40% in Halifax or Leeds and involves Kubernetes environments, CI/CD pipelines and IaC using Terraform.

You'll join an agile team, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to security controls and governance while developing expertise in modern cloud and DevOps practices. On-call duties are included.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years' experience in a DevOps, SRE, cloud or infrastructure engineering role
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies
• Experience using CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Ability to write or maintain scripts using Python, Bash or Go
• Experience or exposure to Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts on GCP and/or Azure
• Basic understanding of Linux systems, networking and security principles
• Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn new tools

Responsibilities

• Support design, build and operation of cloud-based infrastructure across GCP and Azure
• Operate and enhance Kubernetes-based environments
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
• Monitor platform performance and troubleshoot issues
• Support incident resolution activities and implement security controls
• Participate in on-call rota and agile ceremonies
• Contribute to platform improvements and DevOps practices
