Job summary

Swinton Park Hotel is seeking a dedicated Public Areas Housekeeping Assistant to maintain clean and welcoming public spaces across the luxury estate. The role ensures all corridors, entrances, lounges and guest areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

The position covers 40 hours per week over 5 days in a seven-day schedule. It includes opportunities to participate in deep-cleaning programmes and events, with a supportive team culture and a range of employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout public areas.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other visible surfaces.
• Ensure all public areas are consistently clean, tidy, and well-presented.
• Clean and sanitise public restroom facilities.
• Replenish supplies including soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
• Ensure restroom areas remain hygienic and fully stocked throughout the day.
• Respond promptly to spills, stains, and other cleaning requirements.
• Carry out spot cleaning of carpets, upholstery, and surfaces as needed.
• Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Work closely with housekeeping and other hotel teams to coordinate cleaning priorities.
• Provide friendly assistance to guests when approached for directions or information.
• Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere through professional and courteous service.
• Support deep-cleaning programmes and seasonal cleaning projects.
• Assist with the preparation and cleaning of areas for special events and functions.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Housekeeping team.
