Job summary

Swinton Park Hotel is seeking a Public Areas Housekeeping Assistant to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all public spaces across the luxury estate. This full-time role covers 40 hours per week over 5 days in a seven-day pattern.

You will work with a dedicated team to keep corridors, lounges, restrooms, and entrances pristine, respond promptly to spills, and support deep-cleaning programmes and events. A keen eye for detail and courteous service are essential.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout public areas.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other visible surfaces.
• Ensure all public areas are consistently clean, tidy, and well-presented.
• Clean and sanitise public restroom facilities.
• Replenish supplies including soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
• Ensure restroom areas remain hygienic and fully stocked.
• Respond promptly to spills, stains, and other cleaning requirements.
• Carry out spot cleaning of carpets, upholstery, and surfaces.
• Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Work closely with housekeeping and other hotel teams to coordinate cleaning priorities.
• Provide friendly assistance to guests when approached for directions or information.
• Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere through professional and courteous service.
• Support deep-cleaning programmes and seasonal cleaning projects.
• Assist with the preparation and cleaning of areas for special events and functions.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Housekeeping team.
