Job summary

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) invites applications for an Assistant Lab Technician in the School of Health and Life Sciences to support Psychology teaching and research laboratories. You will set up equipment, train staff and students, maintain inventories, and assist with health and safety, while supporting the development of new facilities and resources.

This role suits someone with a background in laboratory work, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Psychology or Engineering.
• Experience in a Psychology lab or similar technical environment.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up lab equipment and materials for teaching sessions.
• Provide technical advice and training on equipment and software.
• Assist with setup of specialized equipment (eye-tracking, EEG, VR).
• Maintain and calibrate equipment, and manage maintenance records.
• Coordinate lab spaces and assist with new facilities as programmes grow.
• Ensure documentation and compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
