Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the School of Medicine & Population Health. You will assist in planning, designing, and executing experimental procedures and maintain specialist equipment, while handling administration tasks such as record keeping and ordering consumables.

You will ensure high standards of health and safety and contribute to collaborative projects across divisions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in a relevant scientific field (essential).
• Experience in technical support environments is desirable.
• Technical skills: flow cytometry, cell culture, molecular biology techniques (PCR, library prep).

Responsibilities

• Perform research experiments and support daily lab operations.
• Maintain records and manage stock, safety data and CoSHH documentation.
• Provide technical service, training and demonstrations of equipment to staff and students.
