Primary School – Blackpool
Full-time | Monday to Friday | Term-Time Only
£13.75 - £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right candidate)
Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to take your first step into education or a long-term career in child psychology or educational psychology?
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Blackpool to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support children across the school with identified Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for child development and a desire to make a genuine impact in the classroom.
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
Support children’s learning and emotional development under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers.
Help implement personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
Develop strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
A degree in Psychology (or closely related field).
A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children.
Ideally some experience with children or young people in an educational, care, or voluntary setting.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
A fulfilling role in a supportive, forward-thinking school.
Access to specialist SEN training and CPD through Teaching Personnel.
A dedicated consultant to guide you through your placement.
The potential for long-term work or a route into teacher training or educational psychology.
