Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Aspiring Educational Psychologists to join SEN schools across Guildford, Surrey, starting in October 2026. This role offers hands-on experience within inclusive settings that prioritise pupil wellbeing and development.

Ideal for psychology graduates aiming to pursue Educational Psychology or related fields, you will support pupils with diverse needs, build relationships with staff, and contribute to strategies for learning and wellbeing in a supportive school

Qualifications

• A degree in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, or a related subject.
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career within Educational Psychology or working with children and young people.
• Experience working with children, young people, SEND, SEMH, care, mentoring, volunteering, or support work is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
• A willingness to learn and complete further training within the education sector.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and social development.
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams to implement individual support strategies.
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum.
• Supporting classroom activities and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive engagement within the school environment.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
