Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an Aspiring Psychologist - Learning Support Assistant to support primary schools in the north of Durham. The role targets graduates from relevant degrees who want to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.

Working Monday to Friday, 8:30am-15:30pm with a daily rate of £107.71, offering training, CPD and a supportive network within Milk Education.

Qualifications

  • Graduated in the last 5 years from a transferable degree relevant to education.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning.
  • Patience and a calm approach to assisting others.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills.
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance.
  • Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently.

Aspiring Psychologist - Learning Support Assistant

We\'re looking for Graduates who have left University in the last 5 years to support Primary Schools across the north of Durham in Learning Support Assistant roles. Here, no specific qualifications are required - we just ask that your degree is relevant to working in education (coaching, support work, counselling, primary/secondary teaching etc) and that you have had employment that is referenceable in the last 2 years.

Learning Support Assistant - Main Responsibilities:
  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
  • Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
  • Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
Learning Support Assistant - Requirements or Skills:
  • Must have graduated in the last 5 years from a transferable degree (psychology, coaching, education, counselling etc) (essential)
