Job summary

First Cymru Buses Ltd. is seeking a PSV/HGV Technician in Swansea to diagnose faults, repair vehicles and perform servicing to approved standards. The role includes on-road breakdowns, road testing, and ensuring paperwork compliance with health and safety rules.

The position offers early and late shifts (6am–2:30pm and 2pm–10:30pm), a minimum 39 hours per week, and a 5-out-of-7 schedule including one weekend in three. UK experience and a valid driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience working on HGV or PSV vehicles.
• UK driving licence and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and routine inspections.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries, road test vehicles.

Position: PSV/HGV Technician Location: Heol Gwyrosydd, Penlan, Swansea, SA5 7BN

Key Details:

• £20.06 per hour
• Approx. £40,681 per annum
• Minimum 39 hours per week
• 5 days over 7 (including 1 weekend in 3)
• Rotation of early & late shifts
• Early 6am-2:30pm, late 2pm-10:30pm

In this hands-on role, you'll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing faults, completing mechanical repairs and replacing parts when needed. You'll carry out scheduled servicing, routine inspections and preventative maintenance, as well as responding to on-road breakdowns and recoveries. You'll also road test vehicles where required and make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• Do you have a Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair?
• Do you have experience working on HGV or PSV?
• Do you have a valid UK driving licence?
• Do you also have a strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics?
