Job summary

Arriva is seeking a PSV / HGV Engineer in Bangor to carry out repairs and maintenance on buses and vehicles. This full-time role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing faults on PSV, HGV, and Light Goods Vehicles. Essential qualifications include a recognised apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical Systems and a good understanding of electrical safety. Opportunities for training and development, as well as additional qualifications, will be provided.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical or Electronic Systems is essential.
• Hands-on electrical experience with PSV, HGV or Light Vehicle fleets required.
• Strong diagnostic capability with wiring diagrams and schematics is needed.
• Full UK driving licence is mandatory; Cat D (PCV) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, diagnostics and system maintenance across a variety of vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair faults on PSV, HGV and Light Goods Vehicles.
• Ensure all repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.

Your work will help ensure our buses operate safely and efficiently every day. Responsibilities include:* Diagnosing and repairing faults on PSV, HGV and Light Goods Vehicles* Carrying out routine electrical inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance* Installing, repairing and replacing electrical components such as wiring looms, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, climate control units and infotainment systems* Using diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues* Ensuring all repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards* Completing accurate and timely reports on work carried out* Working alongside mechanics, technicians and engineers within a collaborative depot environment* Keeping up to date with new and emerging vehicle electrical technologies, including hybrid and electric systems* Participating in overtime and on-call rotas when required### What we are looking forEssential:* A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical or Electronic Systems (or equivalent)* Hands-on electrical experience with PSV, HGV or Light Vehicle fleets* Strong diagnostic capability and confidence working with wiring diagrams and schematics* Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment* Full UK driving licence.
