Job summary

Arriva UK Bus in Bangor is seeking a PSV/HGV Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) to join our engineering team. You will diagnose, repair and service a range of buses, focusing on safety, reliability and performance.

The role requires a qualification in Vehicle Electrical/Mechanical or Electronic Systems, hands-on electrical experience with PSV/HGV fleets, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. UK driving licence (Cat D desirable) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical/Mechanical or Electronic Systems.
• Hands-on electrical experience with PSV, HGV or light vehicle fleets.
• Strong diagnostic skills with wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair, diagnose and service across PSV, HGV and light vehicles.
• Carry out electrical inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Install, repair and replace wiring looms, alternators, batteries, lights, climate control, infotainment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Ensure repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
• Prepare accurate reports on work performed.
• Collaborate with depot team of mechanics and engineers.
• Stay updated on hybrid and electric vehicle tech.
• Participate in overtime and on-call rotas.
