Job summary

Arriva UK Bus is seeking a PSV / HGV Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) for our Bangor engineering team. The role focuses on repairs, diagnostics and system maintenance across a range of vehicles to keep buses operating safely and efficiently.

Candidates should have hands-on electrical experience with PSV/HGV fleets, a recognised qualification or apprenticeship, and a full UK driving licence. Overtime opportunities and dedicated training are provided.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical/Mechanical or Electronic Systems.
• Hands-on electrical experience with PSV, HGV or Light Vehicle fleets.
• Strong diagnostic capability with wiring diagrams/schematics.
• Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on PSV, HGV and Light Goods Vehicles.
• Carry out routine electrical inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Install, repair and replace electrical components such as wiring looms, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems and climate control units.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Ensure repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
• Complete accurate, timely reports on work carried out.
• Collaborate with depot team of mechanics, technicians and engineers.
• Keep up to date with new electrical vehicle technologies, including hybrids and EVs.
• Participate in overtime and on-call rotas when required.
