Job summary

Arriva London North Limited is seeking a skilled PSV Mechanic to join our engineering team. The role covers inspection, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of PSVs, ensuring safe and reliable operation in line with DVSA standards.

You will perform routine servicing on buses and coaches, diagnose faults using diagnostic tools, and carry out repairs. A valid NVQ Level 3 heavy vehicle maintenance qualification and PSV experience are required, along with a Category D PCV licence or willingness to

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Proven PSV Mechanic experience, ideally with bus/coach operations.
UK driving licence with Category D (PCV) entitlement, or willingness to obtain.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across vehicle systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and servicing on PSVs (buses/coaches) per schedule.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
Replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical components.
Pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for DVSA roadworthiness tests.
Accurately document parts used, time taken, and defects in company systems.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Provide breakdown recovery and roadside assistance when required.
Maintain a clean, organized workshop and continuously update skills.
