The role involves assisting the class teacher, managing behaviour with patience, and recording pupil progress. A full UK driving licence and an enhanced DBS are typically required. Competitive daily rate on DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH pupils is desirable.
• Resilience and empathy to handle challenging situations calmly.
• Strong communication and teamwork are essential.
• Qualifications or training in SEMH support or behaviour management are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to re-engage with learning and develop social skills.
• Assisting the Class Teacher in delivering personalised learning plans.
• Managing behavioural challenges with patience and safeguarding protocols.
• Fostering a safe, inclusive environment for all pupils.
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress and behaviour for assessment and planning purposes.
• Promoting positive behaviour and social development among pupils.
