Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an Automotive Prototype Build Engineer based in rural Warwickshire to plan, coordinate and deliver prototype vehicles within the development build programme, applying full vehicle build knowledge and hands‑on engine/drivetrain experience.

Reporting to the Prototype Build Manager, you will manage build issues, generate Vehicle Build books, support data reporting, and oversee workshop tooling and late parts containment to ensure robust prototype builds.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification; vehicle apprenticeship considered.
• Strong understanding of full vehicle build with hands-on experience.
• Experience in high-performance engine/drivetrain build, teardown, and analysis.
• Knowledge of IC and EV powertrains at a high technical level.
• Advanced Excel and presentation writing skills for reporting.
• Experience integrating vehicle systems on prototype builds.
• Familiarity with CAD/Teamcenter.
• Proven problem solving with robust engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver prototype vehicles as defined by the development build programme.
• Report prototype build issues via summaries and formal reports; coordinate root-cause analysis and closure actions.
• Collaborate with Build Engineering Leaders to track bridging content in prototype builds.
• Support data collation and reporting in relevant forums.
• Generate and manage Vehicle Build books before and during builds.
• Resolve late supply parts and support containment actions.
• Manage workshop tooling, including torque tooling maintenance.
