Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking experienced Build / Vehicle Development Technicians to join a leading high-performance automotive organisation, working across prototype and vehicle development programmes. This hands-on role covers build, preparation, maintenance and development of prototype and high-performance vehicles, with testing opportunities in the UK and internationally.

You will build and modify vehicles, read engineering drawings, fault-find both mechanical and electrical issues, and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with vehicle assembly, preparation and development.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability.
• Familiarity with diagnostic platforms (MONACO, CANape, INCA) is a plus.
• Clean driving licence and valid passport required.
• Welding, fabrication or machining skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble concept, mule, prototype and production vehicles.
• Prepare, maintain and update development vehicles and test rigs.
• Modify and upgrade vehicles through development programmes.
• Support vehicle testing at proving grounds and circuits.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules.
• Fault find and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Maintain high workshop workmanship and organisation.
• Possibly drive high-value vehicles in workshop and test environments.

We’re looking for experienced Build / Vehicle Development Technicians to join a leading high-performance automotive organisation, working across exciting prototype and vehicle development programmes.

This is a hands-on role involving the build, preparation, maintenance and development of prototype and high-performance vehicles, with opportunities to support testing both in the UK and internationally.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building and assembling concept, mule, prototype and production-level vehicles
• Preparing, maintaining and updating development vehicles and test rigs
• Carrying out vehicle modifications and upgrades throughout development programmes
• Supporting vehicle testing at proving grounds and race circuits
• Working closely with design and engineering teams
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules
• Fault finding and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, workshop organisation and equipment
• Potentially driving high-value performance vehicles within workshop, road and test environments, subject to the required internal driving standards

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience within motorsport, prototype, low-volume or high-performance vehicle builds
• Hands-on experience with complete vehicle assembly, preparation and development
• Good mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability
• Welding, fabrication and/or machining skills would be beneficial
• Understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems would be advantageous
• Experience with diagnostic platforms such as MONaco, CANape or INCA would be beneficial
• Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings
• Clean driving licence and valid passport
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
• Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to travel

The role will involve some UK, European and occasional worldwide travel, supporting vehicle test and development activities.
