Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Milton Keynes is seeking a Shop-based Manufacturing Technician to support the Global Prototype team and the wider Manufacturing Engineering organisation in developing and introducing new prototype products and processes.

You will assemble prototype products, interpret drawings, perform testing, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, while maintaining records and ensuring quality and safety on-site.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Electrical assembly experience.
• Experience with hand tools.
• Troubleshooting experience.
• Battery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, test, and support prototype products and early customer sample builds.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical assembly activities to a high standard of quality and safety.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, technical specifications, and work instructions.
• Support the Global prototype and wider global manufacturing engineering team in developing and validating new prototype products and manufacturing processes.
• Support design improvement and investigations on prototype products and processes.
• Assist with the introduction, development, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment such as laser welding and COBOT applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve product, process, and equipment-related issues.
• Carry out testing, collect and analyse data, and produce clear technical reports to support engineering development activities.
