Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Production Technician to join the prototype-focused team. You will work closely with Engineers to build and test prototype assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to documentation for smooth transfer into production.

The role offers hands-on technical training, long-term development, and a salary of £32,000 - £35,000 with bonus, 25 days holiday and bank holidays, plus flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience, preferably with prototypes or R&D environments.
• Ability to read drawings and work instructions to build and test assemblies.
• Comfortable following test procedures in a quality-focused setting.

Responsibilities

• Build, test and rework prototype assemblies and systems from drawings and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot issues and feed back to Engineering to improve manufacturability and cost.
• Create and refine build documentation, procedures and test protocols for smooth transfer to production.
• Work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours with flexible working hours.

Commutable from: Basingstoke, Andover, Winchester, Salisbury, Newbury, Romsey, Eastleigh, Farnham, Whitchurch, and surrounding areas

Are you a Prototype Technician, Manufacturing Technician or R&D Technician or similar looking for a highly varied, hands‑on role where you will work directly with Engineers to build and test new products, with genuine long-term development and future opportunities?

On offer is a brilliant chance to join a growing manufacturer where you will gain hands‑on technical training, work closely with Engineers on new product development, and build long‑term progression by developing a broad skill‑set across multiple areas of the business.

This is a specialist manufacturer designing and producing high‑precision technology used within scientific and clinical environments. Due to continued year‑on‑year growth, they are now expanding their prototype team to support new product development and ongoing improvements across the wider business.

In this role you will collaborate with Engineers to build and test prototype assemblies, modify and rework builds as designs iterate, troubleshoot mechanical / electro‑mechanical issues, and help create build documentation and test procedures to support smooth transfer into production.

This role would suit someone with manufacturing / production experience (ideally within prototype / R&D), looking for a technically interesting position with long‑term development and the chance to grow with a company investing in new products and innovation.

The Role:

• Build, test and rework prototype assemblies, components and systems from drawings and work instructions
• Troubleshoot issues, feed back to Engineering to improve manufacturability, performance and cost
• Create / refine build documentation, procedures and test protocols, supporting transfer into production
• Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours with flexible working hours

The Person:

• Production / manufacturing experience (mechanical or electro‑mechanical)
• Prototype / R&D build experience advantageous
• Comfortable working from drawings, instructions and test procedures in a quality-focused environment
