Job summary

WGM Engineering Ltd is seeking an Operations Delivery Manager – Protective Coatings to join our Engineered Solutions team. Based in Livingston with hybrid working, you will lead the delivery of coatings projects spanning surface preparation, blasting, thermal spraying, coatings and linings.

You will manage operational delivery, develop the coatings team, monitor budgets and margins, and work with customers, suppliers and internal teams to improve performance and growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing protective coatings and surface preparation operations, with practical knowledge of abrasive blasting, application methods and inspection requirements.
• Experience leading teams and delivering multiple projects or contracts within workshop and/or site environments.
• Demonstrable commercial and financial experience, including managing budgets, controlling costs and improving operational profitability.
• Strong understanding of coating specifications, quality documentation and safe systems of work, with effective planning, problem-solving and customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshop and site operations, planning people, equipment and materials across multiple projects to meet safety, quality and delivery targets.
• Manage financial performance, including revenue, project budgets, cost control, utilisation and margins, ensuring invoicing and closeout.
• Provide technical leadership across surface preparation, blasting, thermal spraying, coatings and linings, ensuring compliance with specifications and inspection plans.
• Champion safety, environmental and quality standards, addressing COSHH controls and non-conformances.
• Lead, coach and develop the coatings team, setting expectations and managing performance and training.
• Support profitable growth, developing customer relationships and contributing to quotations and tenders.
