Job summary

P&S Personnel Rail is assisting a client in the transport sector to appoint an Operations Manager based near Rochester. The role covers site and coating operations, regulatory compliance, and budgeting.

You will lead the day-to-day works, develop strategy with MD and GM, manage resources, liaise with clients and suppliers, and ensure safety and quality across grit blasting, water jetting, metal spraying, and coating applications.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years industry experience.
• Knowledge of the powder coating / anti-corrosion market.
• Full clean driving licence and willing to work near Rochester.

Responsibilities

• Develop the business strategy with the MD and GM.
• Set actions and timelines to deliver objectives.
• Manage daily site works and powder coating works.
• Determine labour and skills requirements for contracts.
• Lead off-site projects and support resourcing plans.
• Ensure regulatory documentation (Method Statements, COSHH, SDS, TS, Risk assessments, Toolbox talks).
• Liaise with clients and site personnel on contract requirements.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Oversee project scope, surveying and quotation processes.
• Support new business acquisition.
