Job summary

NES Fircroft in Stafford requires a Technical Support Engineer (Protection & Control) to join our team on an on-site basis with travel in the UK. The role focuses on commissioning Substation Automation Systems, with a strong Protection and Automation background, providing site surveys, technical support, testing, commissioning, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

Four to five years of project or service experience in substations.
Experience with Substation Automation Systems, including technical support, testing, maintenance and commissioning.
Ability to analyse customer applications and produce clear technical reports.
Understanding of protection and control testing practices, tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support and customer site surveys for Protection & Control systems.
Respond to customer technical enquiries and deliver training for installed systems.
Support commercial proposals with technically robust solutions aligned to customer specs.
Engage with customers and internal teams to resolve issues with sound engineering judgement.
Provide technical input to Operations and Service during project execution, FAT, SAT and commissioning.
Manage fault reports and customer complaints per defined procedures.
Assist with classroom training and commissioning-focused knowledge transfer.
Build knowledge of new products and industry standards to strengthen capability.
