Job summary

KPJ Group is seeking a Proposals Engineer for a manufacturing operation in Poynton. You will manage RFQs from concept to completion, review tender docs, and prepare cost estimates and commercial proposals.

Role involves coordinating bids across departments, identifying commercial risks, and supporting handovers to delivery teams. 3+ years in a related role preferred, with Excel/Word proficiency.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in proposal engineering or a similar role.
• Engineering/manufacturing or planning background.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; basic Excel formulas.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFQs from concept through to completion.
• Review tender documents, specifications and customer requirements.
• Gather data and hold bid kick-off meetings with stakeholders.
• Check engineering capability, pricing, labour, parts and support requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates, pricing schedules and commercial proposals.
• Coordinate bid activity across internal departments.
• Compile, review and submit tender documentation.
• Identify commercial risks and supporting mitigation plans.
• Attend customer clarification meetings and presentations where required.
• Support tender vetting with senior executives.
• Send offer letters to customers.
• Manage multiple bids ranging from £5,000 to £10 million.
• Maintain accurate bid documentation and records.
• Support successful bid handovers to the project delivery team.
• Ensure bids comply with company procedures, quality standards and industry regulations.

We’re looking for a Proposals Engineer to join a manufacturing business in Poynton.

This is a role suited to someone with experience in engineering manufacturing, planning, commercial or business development, as you will be managing RFQs, preparing cost estimates and supporting bids for bespoke engineering projects.
