Job summary

Connexions Thames Valley in London is seeking a Property Surveyor to lead the diagnosis and resolution of non-routine repairs, damp and mould issues, and major defects, ensuring homes are safe, secure and well-maintained.

You will manage varied caseloads including insurance works, disrepair claims, and specialist repairs, applying NHF rates and quality standards while working with cross‑team colleagues to drive value for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing complex property repairs and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of housing construction, maintenance diagnostics and the NHF Schedule of Rates.
• Excellent damp and mould diagnostics and ability to apply HHSRS.
• Clear, resident-friendly communication and collaboration with teams.
• Curiosity and drive to fix things right, within budget and high standard.
• Experience working with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex building faults across the portfolio.
• Independently manage caseloads including damp, disrepair, and major repairs.
• Lead on accurate diagnosis using damp/mould knowledge, HHSRS, and hazards categorisation.
• Provide technical guidance and post-inspection support to colleagues.
• Support ad hoc planned works and contribute to service improvements.
• Review home improvement requests with safeguarding housing stock in mind.
• Collaborate across teams to enhance resident experience and outcomes.
