Allen Lane are partnering with Mid-Sussex District Council on their recruitment for a full-time Property Solicitor to join their team.

Are you a skilled legal professional with expertise in property law? Join Mid-Sussex District Council's dynamic Legal Services team and play a key role in shaping the future of the Council.

What you’ll do :
  • Provide expert legal advice, representation, and assistance across the Council, including at public meetings.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to Members and colleagues on property matters such as acquisitions, disposals, licences, and landlord / tenant issues.
  • Negotiate and complete property transactions on behalf of the Council.
  • Contribute to structuring property deals and advise on Assets of Community Value, best value disposals, and Subsidy Control.
  • Represent the Council in legal proceedings, including advocacy where required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and case law through continuous professional development.

  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (Essential).
  • Strong experience in property law; local government experience is a plus.
