Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc is seeking a Property Services Operative to provide robust support across the Boscombe Down site. You will perform plumbing, painting, installations, grounds maintenance and other general services to deliver a high-quality operations service.

Role involves maintaining standards, resolving outstanding tasks, and handling materials across the site. Applicants must be eligible for SC clearance; full driving licence is preferred. 37 hours per week at Boscombe Down.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maintenance tasks including plumbing, installations, painting and decorating and other general services
• Ensure maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level
• Assist in resolving customer issues with outstanding tasks or deliveries
• Ensure movement of consumables and materials across site in the ongoing management of services
• Collect waste items from across site and dispose in the correct receptacles
• Assist Grounds Maintenance to keep site grounds to the required standard and deploy equipment safely

Job description

As a Property Services Operative, you will provide robust and flexible support and undertake a number of duties such as routine maintenance tasks, plumbing, grounds maintenance, escorting and other general duties in support of the Property Operations on a site. Day-to-day, you will provide support by delivering planned or requested activities in order to effectively deliver a high-quality operations service across the MOD Boscombe Down site. Your responsibilities will include:

• To deliver tasks as identified such as plumbing, installations, painting and decorating and other general services
• To ensure maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level
• To assist in resolving customer issues with outstanding tasks or deliveries
• To ensure the appropriate movement of consumables & materials across site in the ongoing management of services
• To ensure the collection of waste items from across site and disposal in the correct receptacles
• To assist the Grounds Maintenance team ensuring that the site grounds are kept to the required standard Ability to safely deploy equipment
• Previous plumbing experience an advantage
• Manual Handling awareness / risk appreciation

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site. MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK's aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
