Job summary

The Beehive Project is seeking a part-time Maintenance and Grounds Worker to maintain the appearance and condition of its properties across multiple sites in the Southampton area. You will perform painting, decorating, minor maintenance and garden duties, and you must be comfortable organising workloads and travelling between sites.

Responsibilities include painting internally and externally, surface preparation, basic repairs, and assisting with grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating is beneficial.
• Good maintenance and DIY skills are expected.
• Experience with basic gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to prepare surfaces and achieve quality decorative finishes.
• Ability to organise workload and work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating.
• Prepare surfaces including filling, sanding, sealing and making good damaged areas.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards, woodwork and communal areas.
• Carry out touch-up work between residents and redecoration when required.
• Assist with minor property repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Identify and report larger maintenance issues to contractors.
• Help prepare bedrooms/properties ahead of new residents moving in.
• Maintain gardens and external areas of properties; cut grass and trim hedges.
• Keep entrances and external spaces clean and presentable.
• Follow health and safety, safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries.
