Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Property Operations Manager for three South Downs sites: Birling Gap, Monk’s House and Alfriston Clergy House. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations, visitor experience, compliance and leading site teams.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll help shape strategic direction, manage budgets, contracts and risk, and stand in for the GM during meetings with partners.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing fast-paced, site-based operations.
• Leadership of high-performing teams with coaching and performance management.
• Strong risk assessment and mitigation capabilities across site operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of Birling Gap, Monk’s House and Alfriston Clergy House.
• Lead site managers and cross-functional teams to balance visitor welcome with care for nature and community engagement.
• Own budget, contracts and compliance; stand in for the General Manager for external partner meetings.
