Job summary

BCL Legal represents a leading international law firm seeking a Real Estate Litigation Solicitor/Associate to join a high‑quality national practice in Manchester or Liverpool with hybrid working.

You will handle a broad range of commercial property disputes, including lease renewals, covenants, dilapidations, and landlord-tenant matters, while building client relationships and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Experience handling a broad range of commercial property disputes.
• Strong technical knowledge of lease renewals, statutory and contractual notices, dilapidations and landlord and tenant matters.
• Experience managing court proceedings and dispute resolution processes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of commercial property disputes.
• Advise clients on opposed and unopposed lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
• Handle matters involving restrictive covenants, break notices and lease interpretation.
• Advise on dilapidations claims and negotiated settlements.
• Deal with rights of way, easements, boundary disputes, trespass and nuisance claims.
• Manage landlord and tenant disputes, including possession proceedings, rent arrears recovery, forfeiture and CRAR.
• Advise on telecommunications and insolvency-related property issues.
• Work closely with colleagues across Real Estate and other specialist teams to provide integrated legal solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
