Responsibilities

• Run your own caseload of property litigation matters from instruction through to resolution.
• Support Partners and senior team members on larger, complex disputes.
• Advise clients on strategy, risk and commercial outcomes with clear guidance.
• Handle a range of disputes including landlord/tenant, forfeiture, dilapidations, and TOLATA matters.
• Contribute to business development, cross-referrals, and profile-raising activity.
• Mentor and develop junior team members to support workflow and capability.

Property Litigation Senior Associate

Location: Altrincham

Salary: £80,000 to £100,000 (depending on experience)

If you are a Property Litigation Senior Associate who enjoys complex, technical disputes and building long-term client relationships, this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading specialist team in Altrincham.

Our client is looking to recruit an ambitious Senior Associate into a busy Property Litigation practice advising a broad client base, including owner occupiers, investors, developers and individual property owners. The work is varied, interesting and rarely straightforward, with strong scope to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the continued growth of the team.

You will run your own caseload while supporting Partners and senior colleagues on larger matters. The team works closely with Real Estate and Residential Property colleagues, so this is a great role for someone who enjoys collaborative working and wants to build a profile across a full-service firm.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing your own caseload of property litigation matters from instruction through to resolution
• Supporting Partners and senior team members on larger, complex disputes
• Advising clients on strategy, risk and commercial outcomes, providing clear and practical guidance
• Handling a range of matters including:
• Commercial landlord and tenant portfolio management disputes
• Forfeiture and possession claims
• Interim and terminal dilapidations claims
• Disputes involving insolvent tenants
• Strategic advice on development site acquisitions
• Easement disputes, including rights of way and rights of light
• Restrictive covenant disputes
• Development agreement, option agreement and overage disputes
• Residential landlord and management company disputes
• Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees (TOLATA) disputes
• Residential lease extensions and freehold purchases
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships and staying responsive to urgent requirements
• Supervising, mentoring and developing junior members of the team
• Contributing to business development, cross-referrals and profile-raising activity

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with at least 8 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in property litigation
• Experience gained within a national or leading regional practice
• Strong technical capability and confidence leading matters
• Excellent client relationship skills and a practical, solutions-led approach
• A collaborative working style and enthusiasm for mentoring and developing others
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
