Job summary

Welsh Government seeks a Technical Project Manager to lead complex property infrastructure projects across Mid and North Wales. You will manage project teams, procurement and delivery, ensuring value for money and compliance with health and safety standards.

The post requires Chartered membership or progression towards chartered status, strong contract and procurement knowledge, and a willingness to travel. The role is based in Newtown with a permanent, full-time appointment.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of project management tools, techniques and skills with experience leading property infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of contract law and procurement processes.
• Chartered membership or working towards chartered status in a relevant professional body.
• Willingness to travel across Mid and North Wales; full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Prepare briefs, specifications and tender documents.
• Manage procurement activities and contracts.
• Provide technical and delivery advice to the Property team and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety and Sustainability duties.
• Report to Ministerial briefs and obtain approval for projects.
