Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council in Stevenage is seeking a Disposals Officer to support a growing disposals programme for council-owned properties. You will work with Estates, Legal and Finance to ensure compliant sales and timely conveyancing, while contributing to governance and reporting requirements.

The role offers progression within a developing team, with a starting salary of £39,481 per annum (pro rata for part-time), 37 hours per week, and a fixed-term ending 31 March 2028 in the Resources

Qualifications

• Experience in property sales, estate agency, compliance, or related project management.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Proactive and adaptable.
• GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• IT competency with standard database software and Microsoft Office.
• Full Driving Licence.
• Experience of working for a public sector organisation.
• Knowledge of the property sales process and compliance rules.
• Apprenticeship level 4 in a property related subject, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing controls to make sure that all property sales are done in a compliant manner, and meet with the legal obligations and internal governance rules of the County Council
• Assisting the Head of Disposals and Strategic Asset Manager with reporting
• Supporting other members of the team with their cases. This includes but is not limited to assisting on due diligence and the development of sale strategies prior to marketing, and enquiries during the conveyancing process
• Leading on their own property sales (with appropriate support from the line manager and other team members)
