Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is seeking a Senior Estates Officer in Stevenage to manage the County’s school estate assets, support new schools and expansions, and lead external providers. The role covers landlord/tenant work, rent reviews, and project delivery with a hybrid working arrangement.

The post requires MRICS status, MRTPI or dual qualification pursuit, and significant public sector experience. A driving licence is essential to travel across Hertfordshire.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree level in Estates Management/Estate Surveying (BA/BSc or MA/MBA/MSc).
• Essential: MRTPI or planned dual qualification as Planning professional.
• Essential: Full UK Driving Licence.
• Essential: Significant post-degree experience in Estate Surveying or Town and Country Planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional property advice on land and property matters in line with RICS standards.
• Lead landlord and tenant activities including rent reviews and lease renewals.
• Manage projects and provide strategic consultancy for school estate assets.
