Job summary

Markel is recruiting a Claims Handler in Leeds to join the Prompt Resolution Team. You will manage a varied caseload of property, liability and injury claims from first notification through to resolution, building trusted relationships with customers, brokers and third parties.

This role offers hybrid working (4 days in the office, 1 day at home), an environment that develops future claims professionals through structured learning, funded qualifications, and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with customers and brokers.
• Strong organisation and time management to handle a varied caseload.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of claims.
• Proactive approach to progressing claims and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of claims from first notification through to resolution.
• Handle property, liability and injury claims within portfolio.
• Review claims information and policy coverage.
• Liaise with customers, brokers, loss adjusters and third parties.
• Make proactive outbound calls to progress claims and prioritise workload.
• Deliver excellent customer and broker service and work to service standards.
