Job summary

Emerald Group is seeking an experienced Property Claims Handler based in London to manage and respond to new claims with attention to timely settlement and meticulous record-keeping.

You will liaise with policyholders, brokers, loss adjusters and solicitors, appoint specialists when needed, and gather documentation to support settlements. A strong grasp of property claims and MS Office skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of predominantly property claims.
• Liability experience is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Respond to all new claims advices delegated for your handling in a timely fashion and maintain a record of all such claims.
• Appoint specialists from the company panel (loss adjusters, engineers, solicitors) where applicable.
• Respond to queries from policyholders, brokers and other applicable parties in a timely and professional manner.
• Correspond with policyholders and brokers to request supporting documentation to enable timely settlement while maintaining a commercial attitude toward settlement.

Job description

• To respond to all new claims advices delegated for your handling in a timely fashion and to maintain a record of all such claims. This will include setting up files and to obtain supporting documentation to allow settlement of such claims
• Where applicable the appointing of specialists from the panel used by the company which will include loss adjusters, engineers and solicitors
• Respond to queries from Policyholders, Brokers and any other applicable party in the appropriate manner
• Correspond with Policyholders and brokers to request supporting documentation for claims to enable a timely settlement whilst maintaining a commercial attitude towards settlement

Qualifications required:

• Good understanding of predominantly property claims but any liability experience will be advantageous
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Experience required:

• Experienced claims practitioner with 5 years or more
• Have a keen grasp of figures and be comfortable and confident when speaking with policyholders, brokers, loss adjusters and solicitors
