South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils (trading as South & Vale) are seeking an efficient administrator to support the Housing Landlord Team and the Director of Housing and Environment. The role involves fast-paced duties, coordinating meetings, handling inquiries, and drafting documents to support housing-related activities.

The successful candidate will possess strong IT skills (MS Office), excellent communication, and the ability to work independently while prioritising

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C including English and Mathematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office.
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise work, plan and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Arranging meetings as required, including minute taking.
  • Managing correspondence for the Housing Landlord Team, logging enquiries, redirecting to or gathering information from other teams.
  • Providing support with the various tenant email inboxes, responding to tenant or redirecting emails to other teams.
  • Draft documents, such as policies, procedures and reports (including collating and interpreting data) for the Housing Landlord Team and Director of Housing and Environment.
  • Provide ad hoc cover for the Property and Tenancy Officers/Assistants as requested, including raising and coding purchase orders.
  • Assist with updating the Housing Landlord website pages for both councils.

About the role

Are you looking for an exciting and varied role? the successful applicant will be working a fast paced team and will provide high-quality support to the Housing Landlord Team and the Director of Housing and Environment. Enabling them to ensure the successful delivery of housing related activities in South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse councils.

Essential criteria for the role
  1. 5 GCSEs at grades A-C including English and Mathematics or an equivalent level of qualification.
  2. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  3. Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office (Outlook and excel)
  4. Ability to act under own initiative
  5. Ability to prioritise work, plan and work to deadline
