Job summary

Dowty, a GE Aerospace company in Gloucestershire, UK, is recruiting for an 18-month fixed-term Manufacturing Engineer. You will join the Manufacturing Engineering team, turning design intent into robust production solutions for metallic components and assembly processes behind hydraulic control units and propeller sub-assemblies.

You will plan and run hands-on trials, develop and validate processes, and work with design, planning, operations and quality teams.

Qualifications

• An engineering qualification at HNC level or above, or equivalent.
• Strong manufacturing engineering foundation in assembly and metallic components.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and trial planning.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and specs.

Responsibilities

• Design for manufacturability feedback to design teams.
• Plan and run hands-on trials and document results.
• Develop and validate processes from raw material to finished product.
• Lead RCCA activities and drive continuous improvement.
• Create work instructions and routings aligned with specs.
