Job summary

Dowty, a GE Aerospace company, Gloucestershire, UK, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Tooling on an 18-month fixed-term contract. You will own tooling for next design iterations, from first request to shop floor, turning design intent into robust tooling for repeatable production.

You’ll work with design, sourcing, quality, health & safety, and the internal 3D printing capability. You will define requirements, lead tooling design iterations, manage cost, and coordinate with suppliers to

Qualifications

• Experience supporting tooling, fixtures or equipment from requirement through to delivery.
• Understanding of work instructions, routings and process validation.

Responsibilities

• Define tooling requirements and create SoW, TDS, and T&E lists.
• Own tooling plan from request to commissioning and manage risks.
• Collaborate with design, sourcing, quality and safety teams.
• Plan internal 3D printing for tooling and coordinate production.
• Approve tooling drawings with SME and Health & Safety input.
• Write clear work instructions and routings and train operators.
• Contribute to APQP, FMEA and control plans.
