Job description

Projects Lawyer - Senior Associate | International Law Firm | London

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Projects & Infrastructure Lawyer to join a leading practice with a growing global footprint. This is a career-defining role for a lawyer with a strong background in project development, particularly within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

You'll work at the forefront of the energy transition, advising on complex, high-value projects across the UK and internationally, with exposure to a diverse range of sectors - from wind and solar to energy-from-waste, water, and PPP infrastructure.

The Role:

This is a chance to play a leading role in a well-regarded and collaborative team known for advising developers, sponsors, lenders, and international contractors on major energy and infrastructure projects. You'll take ownership of key matters, drive commercial negotiations, and provide strategic input from development through to financial close.

As a Senior Associate, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading on the development and construction aspects of major projects in the UK and abroad
- Advising on, drafting, and negotiating key project agreements including EPC contracts, PPAs, and credit support packages
- Delivering high-quality legal advice to clients on project structuring, bankability, and risk allocation
- Supporting cross-border teams on renewable energy transactions, including solar, wind, AD, and EFW projects
- Collaborating with partners and clients on complex infrastructure and energy mandates at all stages of the project lifecycle

Candidate Requirements:

This role would suit a technically strong, commercially astute lawyer with a genuine interest in the energy transition and infrastructure development. You will ideally bring:

- 4-6 years' PQE gained in a top-tier private practice or in-house legal team, with a focus on renewables, infrastructure, or energy projects
- Significant experience advising on project development, including construction law and FIDIC-based contracts
- Demonstrable strength in negotiating EPCs, PPAs, and credit support arrangements
- Familiarity with project finance and lender/borrower due diligence is highly advantageous
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to lead negotiations and manage client relationships
- First-rate drafting skills and a keen eye for detail

The Opportunity:

- Join a team that is genuinely shaping the future of renewable energy and infrastructure delivery
- Work on landmark projects with a strong international dimension
- Benefit from a clear, well-supported pathway to progression and partnership
- Enjoy a high-performing but collegiate environment, with hybrid working and genuine work-life balance

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate who's ready to step into a broader, more strategic role - and help drive the development of critical infrastructure and energy projects on a global stage.
