Job summary

Braintree District Council is seeking a Contracts & Projects Technical Officer to provide support to the Contracts & Projects Manager within our Operations Service, ensuring smooth delivery of projects and supporting all contracts. The role covers small projects, capital and annual plan projects, and managing contract finances including PO requests, invoices, and budgets.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
• Proven IT skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Contracts & Projects Manager and deliver smaller projects within the wider programme.
• Manage project finances: raise purchase orders, process invoices, update trackers and budgets.
• Maintain and update the contracts register and manage contract renewals within agreed timeframes.
• Support site inspections across the district to ensure maintenance and repairs are completed on time and to specification.
• Assist with applications for Traffic Regulation Orders and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.
• Support event requests in parks and open spaces.
