Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Norwich is seeking a Project Worker to join our homelessness service at Aviary House. You will support individuals to build independence, assess needs, and manage care plans with dignity.

We offer a supportive, not-for-profit environment with development opportunities and a commitment to diversity, flexibility, and staff wellbeing. Competitive pay (£13.87/hour) and 37.5 hours per week are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults who have experienced homelessness.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in role.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers who have experienced homelessness to build independence and reach their potential.
  • Assess needs and update support plans.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer queries.
  • Build positive relationships that respect choice, privacy and dignity.
  • Work with external partners to boost confidence, health and wellbeing, and encourage education and employment.

Your role

  • Support customers who have experienced homelessness to build independence and reach their potential
  • Assess needs and update support plans
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer queries
  • Build positive relationships that respect choice, privacy and dignity
  • Work with external partners to boost confidence, health and wellbeing, and encourage education and employment

(This role is sometimes also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant, or Independent Living Assistant).

  • Experience supporting adults who have experienced homelessness
  • Positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach
  • Able to work well in a team and independently
  • Strong organisational skills with good literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
