Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living is recruiting a Temporary Project Worker to join our Ofsted-registered young people service at Defoe Court, Epsom, KT17 1AQ. The role supports young people with daily living tasks, education and employment signposting, and tenancy guidance.

The position is up to 6 months, 22.5 hours per week, paying £15.27 per hour. A commitment to safeguarding and inclusivity is essential, with DBS checks and eligibility to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable people.
• Knowledge of safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office).
• Willingness to work toward NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer needs, update support plans and signpost to education, training, and employment.
• Support customers with daily living tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
• Advise to help customers meet tenancy conditions.
• Assist with managing finances and welfare benefits.
• Promote social inclusion and build confidence and resilience.
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met.

Your role

• Assess customer needs, update support plans, and signpost to education, training, and employment

• Offer advice to help customers meet tenancy conditions

• Promote social inclusion and help build confidence and resilience
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met

(This role is sometimes also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant, or Independent Living Assistant).

• Experience working with vulnerable people
• Positive approach to supporting young people with varied needs
• Strong interpersonal and customer care skills
• Effective communication and ability to work on your own initiative
• Knowledge of support planning, key working, risk assessment, and safeguarding
• Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it
