Job summary

Navartis is seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor for a site-based role in Coventry, with occasional travel to the Birmingham City Centre office. The successful candidate will manage costs, valuations, forecasting and procurement on a major project, ensuring commercial delivery from start to finish.

We require 2-5 years' project QS experience in a main contracting environment and a degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Up to £60,000 plus car allowance & excellent company benefits

An established and well-regarded tier 1 main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, working on a project based in Coventry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with 2-5 years' project QS experience who is looking to take on greater ownership and responsibility within a supportive and established commercial environment. You will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of the project, including cost control, valuations, forecasting, procurement, subcontractor management, variations and final accounts, while working closely with the wider project team to ensure the project is delivered successfully and commercially.

The role will be primarily site-based, with occasional travel to the company's Birmingham City Centre office.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of the project, including cost control, valuations, forecasting, CVRs and cash flow.
• Support the procurement and management of subcontract packages, including tendering, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project budgets and commercial performance, identifying and managing risks, changes and opportunities.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve commercial matters and support successful project delivery.
• Ensure contractual compliance and maintain accurate commercial records, reporting and project documentation.
• Provide commercial input and advice throughout the project lifecycle, taking ownership of key commercial decisions through to final account.

About You

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
• Ideally 2-5 years' project experience, with a good understanding of the full project lifecycle.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes and cost management.
• Confident taking ownership of projects and comfortable working with a high level of responsibility.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive and commercially focused approach with a desire to continue developing your career.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is desirable.
