Job summary

Bromsgrove Council and Redditch Council are seeking a highly organised Project Support Officer to assist in delivering growth, regeneration and community initiatives across Bromsgrove and Redditch. You will support project teams, coordinate meetings, maintain records and help with procurement and reporting, ensuring strong governance and customer service.

The role requires experience in busy offices, good communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
  • Experience organizing meetings, events and activities with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of basic project management principles and administrative processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Educated to Level 3 in business admin, financial or project management subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional, customer-focused approach with ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Job description

Are you highly organised, customer focused and passionate about supporting projects that make a real difference? As a Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of economic growth, regeneration and community initiatives across Bromsgrove and Redditch. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will help ensure projects run smoothly, efficiently and deliver positive outcomes for local communities.

Key Requirements
  • Provide administrative and organisational support to project teams, helping ensure the successful delivery of economic growth and regeneration programmes.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and events, including arranging venues, preparing documentation and recording actions and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation and tracking systems to support effective project management and governance.
  • Support procurement and financial administration processes, including purchase orders and invoice monitoring.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and briefing papers for senior managers, elected Members and stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain performance information to help monitor project progress, outcomes and impact.
  • Provide a professional point of contact for businesses, partners and members of the public, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
  • Experience of organising meetings, events and activities involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Awareness of procurement procedures, financial administration and project monitoring processes.
  • Experience of supporting economic development, regeneration or community-based projects.

This role is advertised as full-time (37 hours per week). However, we welcome applications from candidates seeking flexible working arrangements and will consider requests for reduced hours, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
