Job summary

NHS Highland is offering a Modern Apprenticeship for a Project Support Officer in Inverness. You will gain hands-on experience in administrative duties, digital systems, and project management while being paid.

The role is based at Ronach House with hybrid working; hours Monday to Friday, 36 per week. You will study toward SVQ in Business & Administration (SCQF Level 6) with tutor and workplace mentor support.

Are you ready to earn while you learn? Join our HIVE (Highland Improvement, Value & Efficiency) Team as a Project Support Officer (Modern Apprentice).

This is a Modern Apprenticeship role for age 16 - 24 years or 16 - 29 years for disabled or care experienced applicants.

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for digital tools, organisation, and improving how services are delivered. You’ll be hands‑on with exciting and new projects, gain experience in business admin, digital systems, and project management—and get paid while doing it.

The Modern Apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to work in the HIVE Team at NHS Highland. The team focuses on developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes across the region and the role is to assist in the provision of a range of administrative duties.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills,
  • Have good keyboard skills, and be confident using IT systems,
  • Be a team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision,
  • Have good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload,
  • Have a good attention to detail,
  • Be flexible, reliable, and self-motivated.
The successful candidate will:

You will be supported throughout your programme of study by a tutor and workplace mentor.

The post is based at Ronach House, Inverness and offers hybrid working. Hours are Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

During your apprenticeship you will be paid at a percentage of the qualified pay band maximum. As this is a two year apprenticeship you will receive 70% of the pay band maximum in year one and 75% of the pay band maximum in year two. This will be adjusted to reflect the Scottish Living Wage where appropriate.
