Make a real difference in Worcestershire.

We are looking for a motivated, organised and people-centred candidate to join our Worcestershire Connect to Work programme as a Project Support Officer.

You will play a key role in helping people access employment support by managing participant referrals, building strong relationships with the organisations that may refer into Connect to Work and the partners delivering the programme. You will ensure participants experience a smooth, timely and positive journey onto Connect to Work.

Main Activities & Responsibilities

You will support the effective coordination and management of participant referrals into the Connect to Work programme, ensuring a high-quality, person-centred approach from initial enquiry through to programme start.

You will undertake eligibility pre-screening, review participant referrals for accuracy and completeness, identify unsuitable or duplicate participant referrals, and ensure all mandatory information is provided in line with programme requirements.

Working closely with partners delivering the Connect to Work programme across Worcestershire, you will coordinate participant allocations, undertake regular caseload and capacity reviews, monitor participant referral pipelines and waiting lists, and proactively address delays to ensure participants can access support as quickly as possible.

You will maintain regular communication with potential participants, providing updates, managing expectations and supporting continued engagement while they await allocation onto the programme. You will identify individuals at risk of disengaging and escalate concerns where appropriate.

You will build and maintain positive working relationships with organisations that may refer into Connect to Work, acting as a key point of contact, resolving referral queries, identifying opportunities to improve referral quality and support the development of referral pathways across Worcestershire.

You will maintain accurate programme records and referral workflows, monitor performance and referral trends, identify emerging risks and capacity pressures, and provide timely updates and reports to support programme management and continuous improvement.

You will also contribute to partnership working, promotional activities and wider team initiatives that raise awareness of Connect to Work and help ensure the programme remains accessible, inclusive and responsive to participants’ needs.

If you are passionate about helping people and enjoy building positive relationships, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and confidence using a range of IT systems to join our team.
