Job description

In this position, you will build technical and commercial proposals for UK mid to large skills projects. You will meet customer due dates, provide quality proposals, and offer post-order execution support to reduce commercial risk while maintaining high service standards for both internal and external customers. Once an order is received, it will be the project engineer's responsibility to load the order into the system and ensure a smooth handover to facilities and the Order/Project Management team.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  1. Logging all Request for Quotation (RFQ) accurately into the sales CRM system and providing feedback on quotes as needed.
  2. Preparing and issuing inquiries to selected vendors, evaluating their proposals, and ensuring high-quality, compliant proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timelines. Address bid clarification requests promptly and revise proposals accordingly.
  3. Reviewing customer Purchase Orders (POs) against project quotations and clarifications for technical and commercial compliance, addressing anomalies, and requesting PO amendments when necessary.
  4. Processing orders in the Oracle system, ensuring all relevant information is included to communicate requirements to suppliers and colleagues.
  5. Supporting Project and Order Management to ensure successful order completion, including handling PO amendments, defending, and strengthening contracts concerning risk and profitability, while maintaining good relationships with customers.
  6. Being a valuable member of the Bid Management team, contributing regularly to departmental/management meetings.
  7. Ensuring full compliance with legal and company requirements regarding Trade Compliance and Ethical Business, following vital procedures.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  1. Qualification in an engineering field or relevant experience demonstrated clearly.
  2. Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  1. Experience managing major project work, especially with EPC contractors.
  2. Experience selling within a multi-product line engineering business.
  3. Strong commercial knowledge and business acumen.
  4. Knowledge of business systems such as Oracle.
