Job description

This vacancy is only available to employees of Cardiff Council including Cardiffworks and Agency Workers currently engaged with the Council.

This is an exciting time to join Cardiff Council’s Development team. We are implementing a large scale and award-winning new build housing programme capable of delivering 4,500 new homes and investing significantly in our existing communities. We are delivering innovative solutions to help tackle our current housing crisis, delivering high quality, energy efficient, mixed use and mixed tenure schemes across the city. We work collaboratively with our local communities, local Councillors, local stakeholders and Council service areas to ensure successful delivery. We are passionate about building great homes and creating sustainable communities.

About the job

We are recruiting a Project Officer to join the Channel View redevelopment team to assist in the delivery of this exciting and long-term, multi-phased project. This varied role includes delivering the new build housing and working closely with the existing community to ensure the rehousing strategy is successfully implemented.

You will be involved in all stages of project delivery from consultation, design and planning to implementation, contract management and evaluation. Involvement in funding bids and managing project finances will also be required.

We believe in investing in our team members and we have a proven track record in enabling progression through the team. With this in mind we will consider supporting officers through relevant external courses (such as construction management) or professional development to complement the in-job training and experience the post gives.

What We Are Looking For From You

You should have demonstrable experience in housing development and/or regeneration, share our passion for delivering high-quality housing development and regeneration projects, making a positive impact within our communities. Have a desire and the personal drive to gain further hands‑on experience of project management and development, possess good communication and customer care skills, be well organised and be able to work on your own initiative.
