Job summary

Cardiff Council invites applications for an Officer/Technician in the Design, Contracts and Delivery section to provide design, contract and construction management across major highway projects in the city. You will deliver highway concept and detailed designs using AutoCAD and Civils 3D, with NEC4 contract knowledge and CDM 2015 awareness, working with Senior Engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highway concept and detailed designs.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
• Working knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
• Ability to deliver projects on time, to budget and to required standards.
• Experience collaborating with Senior Engineers and highway design teams.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
• Knowledge of Cardiff’s transport infrastructure and stakeholders is desirable.

Sitting within the Development & Growth Directorate, The Design Contracts and Delivery team are responsible for designing and delivering key highway and infrastructure projects throughout the city. Projects include C ity C entre development, cycleways, bus priority projects and neighbourhood regeneration schemes.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have experiencein delivering highway concept and detailed designs

You will have experience in the use of AutoCAD/Civils 3D

You will have a working knowledge of NEC4 Contracts

You willhave experience ofcontributingto the effective delivery of projects to time, to budget and to the required standard.

Youwill have experience of working withSenior Engineersandhighway design teams.

An understanding of the CDM regulations 2015

A good knowledge of Cardiff’s transport infrastructure and landscape is desirable along with experience of working with key stakeholders.
