Job Title: Project Manager with NEC experience

Location: London (Office with some remote working available)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Overview:

We’re looking for an ambitious Project Manager with 5-8 years of experience and a keen interest in delivering innovative advisory/consultancy projects. You will manage projects within our Infrastructure Performance Consultancy (IPC) team, which provides engineering-led strategic advice to leading infrastructure clients, focusing on improving capital programs, reducing costs, and lowering carbon emissions. Your responsibilities include managing consultancy commissions in line with NEC3/4 PSC contract terms and supporting the Project Director in achieving project goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Advising the Project Director and GCM at the project conception stage on contract strategies and approaches to successfully achieve project objectives.
  2. Developing and defining the overall success criteria for projects.
  3. Planning projects meticulously and ensuring detailed plans are produced with the support of the Project Director.
  4. Advising on procurement and management of sub-consultants, including drafting agreements aligned with services and contractual obligations.
  5. Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems to manage internal teams and sub-consultants according to forecasts and project timelines.
  6. Managing change control processes effectively.
  7. Monitoring project finances, including invoicing and budget management.
  8. Producing regular reports, including project programs and risk registers, in accordance with contractual requirements, and supporting financial and commercial reporting.
  9. Managing the transfer of project information between the team and clients.
  10. Challenging existing processes and working efficiently in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  11. Participating in cross-trust activities, including B Corp initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise

Essential:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience with NEC3/4 PSC contracts
  • Experience managing NEC4 contracts for small/medium consultancy projects
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Contractual experience in the infrastructure sector and understanding of commercial considerations
  • Experience managing contractual and commercial risks in advisory or consultancy roles
  • A passion for improving infrastructure in the UK and beyond

Desirable (one or more):

  • Chartered Civil Engineer, Accredited NEC Project Manager, PRINCE2, or APM qualification
  • Experience in infrastructure project management with a focus on client advisory and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of technological tools, AI, PowerBI, etc.
  • Understanding of contract law
  • Technical expertise in civil engineering asset management, design, or construction
